Kigutha is a 250 acre estate located in the Kiambu District, on the slopes of the Aberdare Mountain range, just norh of the capital Nairobi. It produces excellent quality coffees which exhibit quintessential qualities that have made Kenyans so famous, thanks to it's altitude, favourable rainfall and volcanic soil. The farm produces roughly 60% AA grade, and 35% AB grade coffees each year.
This coffee is outstanding. Blackcurrant dominates in the cup and is accompanied by a powerful, tangy acidity, intense sweetness and further sub notes of rhubarb and passion fruit. The coffee finishes with a heavy chocolate note and a classy, lingering finish. Closer to fruit tea than coffee.
